About Us

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Stepping Stones II we believe each child is an individual with varying strengths, interests, and needs. We believe the parents are the child’s first and most important teachers. As a result, we feel parent involvement in all areas of the program is essential for the program to be effective. Staff and parents work as a team in the best interest of the child.

We also believe a child’s self-concept is of major importance and has an effect on his/her success in learning and in developing relationships with others. In coming to terms with who they are, children need to be aware of the similarities they share and the ways in which they differ from others. Our ultimate goal is for the children to accept their differences and respect the differences of others, whether these are based on characteristics of gender, culture, physical make-up, and/or ability.

OUR GOALS

* Provide a safe, nurturing environment for the children entrusted in our care.

* Provide a program that is developmentally appropriate for each age group.

* Become an extension of the families we serve.
